ABOUT ME

Audrey Gooderham is a mobile therapist, treating private patients in Knowle and the surrounding area who have very different muscular skeletal problems, occupation and posture, rehabilitation from physical and sporting activities, and ongoing conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis using the Hendrickson Method. She also instructs two mat work Pilates/movement therapy classes a week.

Having gained relevant qualifications Audrey worked as a sports massage therapist for:

- Aston Villa Football Club for 17 years (from July 1999 to May 2016) as a consultant sports massage therapist

- The Civil Service Rugby Club (1999 to 2004)

- Berkley Football Club (2000 to 2004)

Audrey continued expanding her knowledge of anatomy and movement in mat work Pilates in 2004, and in 2014 she became a qualified Hendrickson Method Practitioner.

Latterly, in 2015 she became a certified movement therapist.

Audrey embarked upon this career having previously seen and experienced injuries in the equine industry. In 1995 she gained qualifications in Human Anatomy and Physiology, Aromatherapy and Swedish Massage at Norwich School of Aromatherapy. These were followed by qualifications in Sports/Remedial Massage (LCSP associated member) and Reflexology.

Equine Work History: this was Audrey’s first career choice from leaving school because having her own horse she desired to learn all aspects of equine welfare and stable management. She commenced training with Martin and Penny Podmore –private livery and competition/showing. Followed by the tutelage of John and Olivia Holohan, Boolagh Stud – how to break and ride away, prepare for showing/eventing.

The training of Point to Pointers and the care of brood mares with Major and Mrs R Wilson, Hockham Lodge Stud; Thoroughbred Yearling Preparation with Mrs Rowena Nurse at West Stow Stud, and the final rung of the ladder was reached at Sheik Hamdan Al Maktoums Stud in Shadwell – Rehabilitation and Reschooling of Thoroughbred racehorses/mares and foals on the public stud.

Audrey is interested in most sports, from those shown at the Olympics to Motorsport.
